We understand that it is important to make the right decision when choosing someone to support your business.
At Fox HR, we become an extension of your business. Whether that’s to support your in-house HR team or to be your HR team, we care about you, your people, and the ongoing success of your business.
And throughout it all, you keep control of your small business.
Here are answers to some common questions we get, to reassure you that with Fox HR, you really will be working with the HR provider of choice.
How much experience do you have?
I have over ten years’ of HR experience, having started out as an HR Administrator and working up to more senior roles. And I’ve spent the last five years as an HR consultant.
I have a degree in Education and English, and a postgraduate diploma in Human Resources Management, which is Level 7 CIPD accredited.
Because of my work as a consultant, I’ve worked in a wide variety of industries. Here are just a few: railway and tram, civil engineering, manufacturing, primary care, care homes, education and schools, hotels, estate agents, digital marketing and creative agencies, luxury travel, and logistics.
I’ve also worked with charities and CICs, so am familiar with the third and voluntary sector. I also run my own business, so I understand first-hand how valuable your time is!
It’s safe to say that whatever industry you and your business operate in, I’ll quickly get up to speed and be able to support you in the best way possible.
What services do you offer?
I consider myself to be a HR generalist, which means I can cover the whole HR spectrum. Whether you’re just looking for an employment contract, or you have a specific issue that needs addressing, I can provide expert advice.
Here at Fox HR, we’re able to support you with getting the HR basics right, discipline, grievance, poor performance, sickness absence, redundancy, TUPE, and training and development. We’d also be delighted to provide support on any other aspect of HR, such as settlement agreements, recruitment, flexible working requests, and other day-to-day people management.
What packages do you offer?
The key thing for me is to build strong relationships with my clients, based on mutual respect. I want to get to know you and your business, and be the person you can trust when things aren’t going quite to plan. Ultimately though, I understand your need to be in control of your business, its people, and its costs.
Because of this, I recognise the need to be flexible. Which is why I offer different packages, designed specifically to suit small businesses at each and every stage.
We can work together on an ad hoc basis. This might be to set up your basic HR documentation, such as an employment contract and some HR policies. It might be to help you tackle a particularly challenging disciplinary or grievance case. It might even be that you need one-off support with redundancy consultations or a TUPE. Whatever your project, we will be here to provide expert guidance.
You may wish to have the security of ongoing support, in which case a retained service might be what you’re looking for. With a retainer package, I would be always available to provide expert advice and guidance on any HR issues that arise. You’ll have the confidence that regardless of what happens, you can pick up the phone and be reassured.
With retained clients, we usually start with an audit of your existing HR documentation and processes and make recommendations from there. We’ll then develop a contract of employment, handbook, policies, etc. as per your requirements.
We realise that sometimes you’ll need us less than at other times, which is why our retainer packages are so flexible. We’ll agree together what your needs are likely to be and this can always be adjusted at regular intervals if needed.
How can I be confident Fox HR is the right consultancy for my business?
We have extensive experience in supporting a wide variety of small businesses with their HR needs, across a range of industries. We’ve also tackled HR problems from the very tiny, silly niggles, right up to managing complex issues with senior managers and directors.
You can be confident that for any HR issue or challenge you have, we’ve dealt with something similar previously. Yes, even the most weird and wonderful. Yes, even if it relates to a celebrity. And yes, even if it means hearing the most colourful vocabulary in the world!
And yes, even the most sensitive and delicate of situations. We really are here to guide you through all of your HR ups and downs. Whatever is causing that headache, you can trust us to find the right solution for you and your business.
In the meantime, please do read through our glowing testimonials. Nothing speaks to the quality of someone’s work better than the views of others, and we are proud of what our clients and business partners have to say!
Where are you based?
We are based in Wolverhampton, in the heart of the West Midlands.
We would be delighted to support your business regardless of where you are located and, as the one thing we can be thankful to Covid-19 for, is the ability to do almost all our work remotely. Of course, we’re happy to travel as needed, and with Wolverhampton being such a central location, it’s doesn’t take too long to get anywhere.
The majority of clients are local, based in Wolverhampton and the Black Country, Birmingham, Telford, and Shrewsbury. But we can be in Manchester, Cardiff, and London in just over an hour by train!
