    Important Employment Law Changes from 1st April - Important Employment Law Changes from 1st April - Is your business ready? From 1st April this year, several key changes to employment legislation will take effect, and now’s the time to make sure you’re prepared and compliant. Here’s what you need to know: ✅ National Minimum Wage Increases ➡️ 21+ (National Living Wage) → £12.21 per hour ➡️ 18-20 → £10.00 per hour (a rise of almost 15%!) ➡️ 16-17 & apprentices → £7.55 per hour ✅ Statutory Payments Rising ➡️Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) increases to £118.75 per week ➡️Statutory Maternity, Paternity, Adoption, Shared Parental & Parental Bereavement Pay rise to £187.18 per week ✅ Neonatal Care Leave Parents of babies in neonatal care will soon have the right to up to 12 weeks of paid leave in addition to maternity/paternity leave.     This morning, I had the pleasure of attending my f This morning, I had the pleasure of attending my first Molineux Meets networking event at the iconic @wolves Molineux Stadium, hosted by the lovely @charlottethecopywriter. It was an inspiring event with incredible guest speakers, including Gurpri Bains, Claire Duesbury, and Melissa Forde, who shared valuable insights on their experiences and the importance of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI). Their thoughts are an important reminder to us all of how vital EDI is in building stronger, more inclusive workplaces. Two powerful takeaways really stuck with me: 1️⃣ Start small, but start. EDI doesn’t require perfection and taking even small, intentional steps can make a huge difference to your teams' culture and your bottom line. 2️⃣ Don’t be afraid to talk about EDI. Asking questions, opening conversations, and being willing to learn - even if you make mistakes - can pave the way for progress. You can always apologise if you get it wrong, but staying silent gets us nowhere. I also bumped into a few familiar faces, and it was wonderful to see you all. And it was wonderful to meet a few new people too! If you're a local business looking to connect with likeminded folk, I can strongly recommend the next Molineux Meets event. Reflecting on 2024, it was a year filled with milestones. From launching new services and hosting webinars, to supporting businesses with complex challenges and exciting opportunities, it’s been a privilege to see the positive impact we’ve had on our clients and their teams. It was also a year where I became really clear on my vision for the business, ensuring everything we do aligns with the values that make Fox HR unique. More on that to come!
